Electro Harmonix Pico Shimmer – Shimmer Reverb
By combining reverb, modulation, delay and synthesis, Pico Shimmer opens up new possibilities for creating completely unique reverb sounds. The shimmer reverb effect itself has its foundation in Electro Harmonix award-winning Oceans Reverb pedals and will give you effects you did not think existed.
Pico Shimmer has three distinct shimmer modes (Scenes): Intergalactic, Off-World and Etherdust.
- INTERGALACTIC: Classic shimmer effect with polyphonic octaves, reverb, modulation delay and compression, complemented with a string synthesis. Switch between plate reverb, shimmer and ethereal strings for cinematic sounds.
- OFF-WORLD: Smoother and more restrained shimmer with enhanced delay modulation. Creates warm, synth-based atmospheres with clear vintage character.
- ETHERDUST: Glitch-inspired shimmer where the delay time is randomized to create everything from small short percussive repetitions to rhythmic echo effects.
Pico Shimmer has a simple user interface where each control has two functions.
VOICE: Morphs different reverb characteristics – from plate to shimmer and synth-based textures.
BLEND: Adjusts the balance between dry signal and effect signal
TONE: Controls the amount of treble for the effect signal
TIME: Determines decay time, from short reverb to reverb without end
Infinite Reverb: Activated by holding down the footswitch and the reverb sustains as long as the pedal is pressed.
The alternative functions for each control let you determine the amount of reverb and delay as well as depth and rate for the modulation effects
Scene button: Switches between the three shimmer modes. Holding the button activates the alternative functions for each control.
