PRS DGT – David Grissom Dark Cherry Sunburst
The DGT model (David Grissom Trem) is the result of over 20 years of collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and David Grissom. Based on the PRS McCarty platform, it features a unique DGT neck profile, taller frets, specially voiced pickups and a refined control layout. The body is crafted from solid mahogany with a carved maple top.
During development, Grissom and Paul compared more than forty pickup sets before finding the ideal vintage-voiced tone for the DGT humbuckers. Combined with individual volume controls for each pickup and a push/pull master tone for coil-tap, the DGT offers exceptional flexibility and articulation.
The PRS Phase III Locking tuners provide modern locking functionality with a vintage-inspired exterior. They are designed to improve tone transfer into the instrument, resulting in increased sustain and a more powerful resonance.
The PRS Patented Gen III Tremolo is engineered for optimal tone, ergonomics and outstanding tuning stability. Its precise construction gives the player a responsive tone and a tremolo system that holds tuning extremely well.
David Grissom describes the model like this:
“The DGT is like picking up a vintage guitar. It sounds like a vintage guitar, and straight out of the box it’s ready to go. There's a whole lot of thought that has gone into this. The DGT is pretty perfect to me.”
